General Description: The Calder Rivers Trust is a charity focusing on the health of the River Calder and its tributaries. We are involved in an array of projects, from developing rain gardens in Hebden Bridge to improving fish passage through man-made obstacles. We are a partner for many Yorkshire Wildlife Trust projects and are continually looking to expand our remit. We have recently appointed a Project Manager, through funding from Yorkshire Water, and their remit is to further identify areas for improving the riparian environment, working with others in the catchment area, to improve water quality, biodiversity and recreational facilities.
We are also about to appoint another member of staff as a Farm and Rural Affairs Officer to work with farmers to improve carbon capture and to reduce the effects of flooding.

We rely heavily on volunteers to both manage the Trust and to help with our work to clean up the river environment and to monitor water quality.
